Yes, you read that right…baby cabbages. A friend gifted me with a bouquet for my birthday and I can’t get over how gorgeous they are! Of course I’m familiar with the larger heads of purple and white cabbage being used in outdoor gardens, usually nestled aside mums and pumpkins in the fall. However, I had never seen these smaller, long stemmed ones until now.
As you can see, they come in the same creamy white and deep purple colors as their larger counterparts and, when cut down and placed in a shallow square vase, they made a stunning addition to the coffee table.
Like other varieties of cabbage, these are harvested throughout the fall and early winter. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for them this time next year.
