If you live in the Northeast and are looking for a weekend spa getaway, have I got a place for you! The Lodge at Woodloch is an absolutely gorgeous destination spa located on 150 acres in Pennsylvania (not far from the Pocono mountains). At the recommendation of one of my husband’s colleagues, we went for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary this past November. It was truly a weekend to remember!
The spa is perfect for doing nothing or doing everything. The grounds are absolutely stunning, complete with lake, fire pit, labyrinth, hiking/biking trails and hammocks nestled among the trees. (Note: they have activities for all seasons: paddleboarding and canoeing on the lake in summer; cross-country skiing and ice fishing in winter.) So, if time spent in nature is your thing…you can absolutely indulge the senses here!
If you’d prefer classes – everything from cooking to the BOSU ball, photography to yoga, meditation to painting…have at it!
And if you simply want to pamper yourself with spa treatments, hot tub time, the eucalyptus steam room (which, by the way, is a little slice of heaven!)…grab a robe and enjoy!
My husband and I ended up doing a little bit of everything and it was perfection. Also important to note…the food served here is prepared with top quality ingredients (most of them from local farms) and rivals the best 5-star restaurants in New York City. Not your typical “spa food,” to be sure!
I just HAD to share it with you. But, you don’t have to take my word for it. See for yourself just how gorgeous it is by checking out Woodloch’s Instagram page, which has some stunning photos of the resort during – indoors and out.
If you’re looking for a truly Wellegant escape, I know you won’t be disappointed.
